Store medical supplies inside
A medical kit inside the room treats injuries that happen during the event. Medicines also need protection from heat and theft.
How
- Keep a first aid kit inside, as Ready.gov lists for every emergency kit. Use the medical module for contents and training.
- Store a few days of each person's essential prescription medicines in a labelled box, and rotate before expiry.
- Keep medicines in the cool, dry conditions on their labels. Do not keep them in a safe that gets hot or damp.
- Store controlled or high-value medicines in a locked box or safe, out of reach of children.
- Keep a printed list of each person's medicines, allergies and conditions with the kit.
