Pass final inspections and get sign-off

Final inspections and certificates prove your estate was built legally. Without them you may not be allowed to occupy, sell or borrow against the property.

How

  1. Use your permit register to check every permit has a final inspection or certificate.
  2. Book final inspections for building, wastewater, electrical and any well or water approvals.
  3. Fix any defects the inspector lists and get them re-inspected.
  4. Collect the completion or occupancy certificate and every system certificate (for example electrical installation certificates, septic certificate of completion).
  5. Store originals safely and scan copies.
