Place the medical room or cupboard

The medical module (medical-12) sets out what the medical room needs. This step fixes its place in the room plan and the furniture it takes.

How

  1. Choose an interior, cool, dry space close to an exit and vehicle access, away from kitchen heat and bathroom humidity, as medical-12 advises.
  2. Furnish it with lockable wall cabinets, a washable worktop, a seat or couch for the patient and good task lighting on the battery-backed circuit.
  3. Leave a spot with power and signal for remote consultation (medical-24), which can share the comms corner if it is next door.
  4. If anyone needs cold-chain medicines, plan a dedicated small fridge on a protected circuit (medical-14).

Safety: Lock medicines away from children.
