Place the safe room and secure store

Where the safe room and secure store go is set in secure-3. This step makes sure the room plan, escape routes and furniture work with it.

How

  1. Locate the room as secure-3 advises: interior, ground floor or below where flood risk allows, reachable quickly from bedrooms at night.
  2. Check that the safe room does not block an escape route from any other room (rooms-3).
  3. Plan a solid floor and wall to anchor safes into (secure-14), and fit shelving for the stores listed in secure-10 and secure-11.
  4. Use dehumidifying measures in safes and secure stores in humid climates (secure-15).
